Natural Testosterone Optimizers
- May Stimulate Muscle Growth
- Improves Libido and Sexual Performance
- Supports Reduced Cortisol so Ideal for Post Cycle Therapy
The steroidal hormone Testosterone plays a vital role in sexual health and development. It is involved in numerous important processes during puberty and adulthood, such as building muscles, putting hairs on the chest, and increasing the size of sexual organs [1].
Following puberty testosterone is involved in maintaining bone and muscle strength and in the promotion of sexual libido. High levels of testosterone are especially important for people wishing to gain muscle mass.
Unfortunately, as one gets older there is a steady decline in testosterone levels. This can lead to many undesirable effects, such as poor muscle strength and, even worse, a lack of interest in sex.
Overcoming Low Testosterone
Many people include natural testosterone supplements in their diet as they feel it will overcome the effects of low testosterone levels. This is thought to support the natural endocrine system and to to improve one's quality of life.
A natural testosterone booster should include ingredients that may support levels of the hormone in the blood, thus promoting sexual health, performance & libido, increasing sperm count, delaying onset of the andropause (male menopause), enhancing muscle building processing and maintenance mechanisms, increasing overall physical performances during and after an exercise workout, and improving blood circulation. All of these may support a healthy and much fuller life.
TestoTrax contains eight key ingredients that are thought to naturally boost testosterone levels, these are: FenuTrax™ Fenugreek Seed Extract, Eurycoma Longifolia (Malaysian Ginseng), KSM-66® Ashwagandha, Mucuna Pruriens, Niacin, Copper Bisglycinate Chelate, and Vitamin D3. In addition to supplementing testosterone levels, these natural herbs and vitamins have numerous other advantages such as supporting the function of the pancreas, supporting gastrointestinal health, and overall enhancement of mood.
FenuTrax™ Fenugreek Seed Extract (Trigonella foenum-graecum)
Fenugreek has long been used for increasing sexual libido in men in Arabian countries and the Indian sub-continent. Seeds are rich in the amino acid 4-hydroxyisoleucine [2], which is known to support healthy glucose-induced insulin release and thus normalize glucose metabolism in already healthy individuals. The seeds themselves have a bitter maple-syrup like flavor.
In addition to promoting healthy response to blood glucose, fenugreek is traditionally used to help support digestion and eating patterns; it is also associated with supporting healthy levels of testosterone [3].
Taking Fenugreek supplementation can also support a healthy minor decrease in DHT and fatty tissue mass, minor increases in glycemic control, glycogen resynthesis, and HDL-C levels in healthy individuals. In women, Fenugreek dramatically increases levels of milk production during lactation [4].
For men, it is the elevated levels of sexual enhancement and libido linked with Fenugreek consumption that are of greatest interest.
Seeds contain large amounts of saponins, flavonoids (sometimes called “fenusides”), alkaloids, coumarins and vitamins. Trigonelline is the most prevalent alkaloid.
There is also a link between Fenugreek supplementation and increased serum testosterone levels in males who have undergone resistance training.
Eurycoma longifolia (Tongkat Ali Root)
This bitter tasting southeastern Asian herb is rich in beta-carboline alkaloids and quassinoid type glycosides. These are known to increase testosterone levels and increase sexual responsiveness, and also act as powerful aphrodisiacs.
Eurycoma longifolia Jack is also associated with anti-estrogenic effects, healthy sperm production and quality, delayed ejaculation, and numerous pro-erectile properties. Other minor effects of the herb include slight increases in power output, support in fighting stress, and increases in lean mass and may promote healthy weight-loss (specifically fat loss).
It is thought the herbs glycoprotein content is the reason for its powerful role as an aphrodisiac, however the exact mechanisms underlying these processes are not yet fully understood. Daily doses of Eurycoma longifolia led to decreased ejaculation latency and increased mounting frequencies in rats [8].
Further to the above aphrodisiac effects, supplementation with Eurycoma extracts results in increased erection frequencies; this is most likely due to an androgenic effect [9].
Suppression of estrogen is the most likely reason for the increased sperm counts and qualities seen when supplementing with Eurycoma in rats. As levels of seminal viscosity are increased it is speculated that Eurycoma Longifolia supplementation may increase sperm count [10], with significant increases in seminal volume also recorded.
With regards to testosterone, Eurycoma is able to increase levels in sexual sluggish rats during low testosterone periods. In a 2012 Malaysian study, researchers found that supplementation of the the herb was able to support healthy levels of testosterone.
